The Civil Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the assigned project(s) in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. Plans, organizes, and supervises specific portions of construction work for an assigned area of a large construction project. Responsible for the construction scheduling of the civil related activities of the subcontractors to confirm the completion of contractual construction activities. Maintains continuity of job progress and maximizes efficiencies related to the assigned area.

  • Responsible for the oversight of the following project work activities: Earth work, site grading, flatwork (asphalt and concrete), surveying and site layout, concrete installation, deep foundations, drilled piers, underground piping, grounding, and ductbanks.
  • Responsible for overall supervision of construction effort, which includes: productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, material management, safety and quality, scheduling, engineering, and contractual performance of the project.

  • Manages negotiating, approving and executing prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.

Responsible for leading cross departmental Infrastructure delivery for one or more technology projects to completion by collaborating with a Program or Project Manager and both IT and business team members. Ideal Candidate Experience:

 

  • One to two years working in the oil & gas pipeline industries
  • Basic knowledge of design software such as: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, BlueSky, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
  • Familiar with pipeline design aspects for construction methods of open-cut trench, auger bore, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is a plus.

Position Overview:

The Senior Water Processing Engineer (SWPE) – Engineering Services acts as subject matter expert on water processing and purification issues in support of water and wastewater projects during design and construction phases in the power, municipal, industrial markets throughout the United States. Engineering Services involves multiple profit centers that are focused on providing a host of engineering and design services to the power generation market and our rapidly expanding presence in the municipal arena. The SWPE is responsible for developing process designs, bringing water into compliance  for improvements to clarification and disinfection processes, disinfection byproducts reduction, organics control, taste and odor control, and residuals handling and disposal utilizing a variety of solutions including aeration, precipitative softening and recarbonation, dual media filtration, and chlorine/chloramines disinfection; nano-filtration, and UV irradiation. Water treatment plant issues addressed include site topography, solutions to minimize plant footprint and elimination of discharge residuals to water supply while yielding water fit for passage of SWDA regulatory requirements. Additionally, the SWPE is responsible for supporting business development efforts, proposal development, direct engagement on engineering only projects and consulting, design-build projects, and traditional power and water treatment projects within the municipal and power generation fields.   

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop and effective water treatment processes by working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers within a budget and schedule to execute design and engineering on projects.
  • Monitor projects, analyze results, and maintain existing client relationships to facilitate communication and problem solving regarding current and future project performance.
  • Coordinate with plant designers, project managers, construction management, owners and clients the execution of water treatment process designs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all responses to client request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFI’s) and work solicitation inquiries; contribute to management argument for go/no go decisions
  • Drive continuous assertive technical issue project follow up and rapid problem solution identification and resolution.
  • Conduct pilot plant testing and extensive tracer testing to verify compliance with SWDA regulations.
  • Expand work with existing clients through additional services and offerings that meet clients evolving needs.
  • Attend select regional client based events as well as business development-oriented regional conferences and other client events.
  • Advise and support other professionals involved in water treatment in their efforts with clients.
  • Become and remain continually informed on industry developments and the competitive landscape.
  • Continuously remain knowledgeable around water treatment innovation and trends, and equipment and technology breakthroughs.
  • Actively participate in select business development calls and annual planning efforts
  • Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts, Business Development team, Seller-Doers and service area managers for team selling opportunities.

  • At least 5 years’ proven experience in water treatment processes roles for professional services related firm(s).

  • This position is located in Lenexa, Ks; must be able to travel up to 30% of time with overnight stays.

The Staff Electrical Engineer designs and specifies electrical systems associated with municipal drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities. Electrical systems include low and medium-voltage power, lighting, SCADA and process controls, voice/data communications, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, and fire alarm. Candidate will lead or assist in the execution of complex projects requiring the use of advanced techniques for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and studies from inception to completion. Candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams across multiple offices. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Candidate shall have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program
  • Candidate shall hold a Professional Engineer license in the State of Colorado, or a license in another state and the ability to obtain a Colorado license within six months.
  • Experience in the design of municipal water/wastewater treatment facilities is desired. Experience on other industrial projects such as oil and gas, manufacturing, or other related industries will be considered.
